- You pick the work. Deliveries are offered, not assigned. Nothing obligates you to take one you do not want.
- Local businesses. Pickups are at bakeries, restaurants, floral and gift shops, caterers, and retailers in your area.
- Most loads are manageable. A typical run is a few bags of food, a vase of flowers, or a couple of boxes. Catering is the exception — a large order can fill a van or take more than one driver. Oversize is a separate delivery style you opt into.
- Orders come in around the clock. Businesses place orders 24/7/365. Food deliveries cluster around the lunch rush; flowers, retail, and everything else land throughout the day.
- Recurring work comes up. Some businesses run regular routes or standing catering orders, and drivers who handle them well are often asked to keep taking them for that customer.

Before you apply
It depends on the businesses near you. UniHop works with bakeries, restaurants, caterers, floral and gift shops, and retailers, so a typical run is prepared food, flowers, or retail goods. Catering is the one to size up before you accept — a large catering order can run into the thousands of dollars and need a van, or more than one driver, rather than a car. Some businesses also need perishables handled with extra care, and those are offered as a separate delivery style.
Businesses place orders 24/7/365, but the work is not spread evenly. Food deliveries concentrate around the lunch rush, so that is the busiest stretch of the day if restaurants and caterers are what is near you. Flowers, retail, and other deliveries come through at all hours, and catering often needs an early arrival to be in place before an event starts.
It varies with your location, your availability, and how many businesses near you are ordering that day — anywhere from one to ten or more. UniHop does not guarantee a delivery volume.
Most fall under 10 miles. Some run 10 to 30 miles, and long-distance routes go beyond that. Distance is shown before you accept, so you can pass on anything outside your range.
No. Drivers on the UniHop platform are independent contractors and choose which deliveries to accept. Declining one does not affect the offers you see afterward.
A vehicle appropriate for the deliveries you want to take, a valid license and insurance, a smartphone, and the ability to pass a background check. Vehicle size is the thing worth thinking about up front: a car covers most standard runs, while larger catering and oversize orders need a van or truck. Requirements for specialty and oversize work are higher, and we cover those separately if you apply for them.
Pay depends on the delivery style, the distance, and the handling involved, and it is shown on each delivery before you accept it. Because you choose which deliveries to take, there is no single rate we can quote up front.
We review every application against the delivery styles available in your area, then follow up by email with next steps. Applying for catering work adds a short second step — we send you that separately once your application clears.
Some of it, yes. A number of the businesses on UniHop send recurring multi-stop routes or standing catering orders rather than one-off deliveries. When a customer wants the same driver week to week, we reach out to drivers who have handled their deliveries well and ask whether they want to take that customer on regularly. It is not guaranteed work and you can turn it down, but it is the most predictable work on the platform.
Yes, and there is a bonus for it. If you know a local business that needs delivery help, the Business Referral Program pays you when they start using UniHop, and gives you priority access to their orders.
