5. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage) on our website. Below is what we set, why we set it, and how long each one lasts.
A. Strictly Necessary
These are always active. They do not track you across other websites and cannot be switched off, because without them we cannot record your privacy choice.
- uh_consent_region — set by UniHop. Records which privacy rules apply to your location, so we know whether to ask for your consent before any tracking runs. Expires after 30 days.
- uh_consent — set by UniHop. Stores your accept or decline choice so that we do not ask you again. Expires after 180 days.
B. Analytics
These help us understand how the site is used — which pages are read, which buttons are clicked, where people abandon a form — so that we can improve it.
- ph_[id]_posthog — set by PostHog. Distinguishes visitors and groups their page views into a single session. May include a session recording, in which form inputs and page text are masked. Expires after 365 days.
- \_ga and \_ga_[id] — set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes visitors and measures overall traffic and site usage. Expires after 2 years.
C. Marketing and Attribution
These help us understand which campaign or referral brought you to the site, and measure our advertising.
- uh_attribution — set by UniHop. Records the campaign parameters (UTM tags), Google and Meta click identifiers, referring site, and landing page from your first visit, so that an enquiry can be attributed to its source. Expires after 90 days.
- Google advertising cookies — set by Google through Google Tag Manager, where advertising features are enabled. Used for advertising measurement and personalisation. Durations vary; see Google's own disclosures.
Our live chat (Crisp) and our review invitations (Trustpilot) also store data in your browser in order to operate those features. Our quote and enquiry forms are hosted by a third party and embedded from their own domain, so that provider's notice governs any information you enter into them.
D. Your Choices
In Quebec, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, the analytics and marketing technologies described above are deactivated by default. Nothing in categories B or C runs until you accept it on the banner shown on your first visit. You may decline. You may also change your decision at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which restores the banner on your next visit.
In the United States and the rest of Canada, those technologies are active by default. You may opt out at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer. We also honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically, so if your browser sends one, we treat it as an opt-out without any action from you.
Your browser settings can additionally block or delete cookies. Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent us from remembering your privacy choice.
E. Pages Served by Our Store Provider
Some pages on this domain, including our online store and product pages, are served by our e-commerce provider rather than by the website described above. Those pages set their own cookies under that provider's arrangements, and the choices described in this section may not apply to them. Your browser settings remain available on those pages, and you may contact us at support@unihop.app with any question about them.
7. Your Privacy Rights (U.S.)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information
- Request deletion
- Correct inaccurate data
- Opt out of certain data sharing
- Receive information about categories of collected data
To exercise your rights, contact support@unihop.app.
We will verify your identity before responding.
8. California Residents (CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), including:
- Right to know categories and specific pieces of data collected
- Right to delete
- Right to correct
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing
- Right to non-discrimination
We do not sell personal information for money. We may "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as that term is defined by the CPRA, through the advertising and analytics technologies described in Section 6. You may opt out using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Requests may be submitted to support@unihop.app.
9. Canadian Residents (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25)
If you are in Canada, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request its correction, and withdraw your consent to its collection and use.
If you are in Quebec, additional rights apply under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector ("Law 25"), including the right to request de-indexing and to be informed of decisions made by automated processing. As described in Section 6, technologies that identify, locate, or profile you are deactivated by default on our website until you consent.
Requests may be submitted to support@unihop.app.
10. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. International Transfers
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
