BirdChime IntegrationBird Schedules the Delivery. UniHop Gets It There.
Your customer picks a delivery day and time slot at your Shopify checkout. When you mark the order out for delivery in Bird, a driver is dispatched, a live dispatch team monitors the order, and your customer gets tracking and photo confirmation. Nationwide, with no subscription.
Overview
What UniHop Is
UniHop is a delivery management service for local businesses: delivery plus a live operations team, with no marketplace between you and your customer. Orders are accepted 24/7/365 across all 50 states, and your brand stays on the tracking link and notifications your customer sees. Connected to Bird, BirdChime's pickup and delivery scheduling app for Shopify, local delivery orders move from your checkout into UniHop without anyone re-typing them.
Why UniHop
What You Get With UniHop
Bird handles the scheduling side: delivery days, time slots, cutoffs, and pickup rules at checkout. UniHop covers everything that happens after the order is placed.
Tracking, Alerts, and Proof of Delivery
Real-time driver location, status updates for your customer, and a photo at every drop-off. Bird stores the tracking link on the order and can email it to your customer automatically.
Monitored, Not Just Dispatched
A live dispatch team watches orders as they happen and steps in when something looks off, rather than leaving you to hear about it from an unhappy customer. Orders are accepted around the clock; dispatch monitoring runs 5 AM to midnight daily.
Delivery Style Chosen in Bird
Pick Standard for everyday orders or Special Handling for catering, florals, and fragile items, right in your Bird settings. A dedicated driver stays with Special Handling orders from pickup to drop-off. See how the styles compare.
Vehicles Sized to the Order
Sedan, SUV, van, and truck options are all available. Bird can step up to a larger vehicle automatically when an order crosses a weight threshold you set.
Pricing Without a Subscription
A base fee plus a per-mile rate, charged per delivery. No commission on order value, no subscription, no contract, no minimums. See current rates.
Your Brand, Start to Finish
Your customer sees your name on the tracking link and the delivery notifications. UniHop stays in the background.

Setup Details
For exact setup steps, use BirdChime's UniHop guide. It covers the connection screen, location settings, vehicle size rules, failure notification emails, and how to disconnect. New to Bird? It is the pickup and delivery scheduling app from BirdChime.
Two things trip merchants up most often. Billing has to be set up in the UniHop portal before your API key will be accepted, and every location you enable needs a pickup phone number, because UniHop cannot dispatch a delivery without one. If your key still is not accepted, or you need help with the portal side of setup, see How do I get my UniHop API key and connect a partner app? in the UniHop help center.
If your delivery program needs oversize vehicles, restricted-item handling, or a custom delivery style, contact UniHop before launch so we can configure it on your account.
New to UniHop? The pricing page breaks down the four delivery styles and what each one costs, and the industries page covers how florists, caterers, bakeries, and meal-prep businesses typically use delivery.

Creating an account is free, and there's no subscription or contract to sign. The setup steps below take it from there.
Setup
Connecting Bird to UniHop
Create Your UniHop Account and Add Billing
Create a free UniHop business account, then add a payment method under Billing in the portal. Your API key is not accepted until billing is set up, so do this before anything else.
Copy Your API Key
Generate your API key in the UniHop portal. Each merchant connects with their own key, and UniHop bills you directly for deliveries. Bird has no rate settings of its own for UniHop.
Connect UniHop in Bird
In Bird, go to Settings, then Integrations, open UniHop, paste your key, and select Connect. Once the key is verified, the configuration options appear.
Set Your Locations and Delivery Style
Check the locations UniHop should serve and add a pickup contact name and phone number for each one. Choose a default vehicle size and delivery style, and decide whether Bird should mark orders fulfilled in Shopify and email tracking to customers.
Mark an Order Out for Delivery
That status change is what sends the order to UniHop. Run a couple of test orders with different addresses so your team can watch the handoff before you go live.
Use Cases
Where Bird + UniHop Fits
Scheduled Local Delivery
Customers choose a delivery day and time slot in Shopify, and UniHop handles the delivery once the order is marked out for delivery.
Bakeries, Florists, and Caterers
Set Special Handling as the default delivery style in Bird so time-sensitive and fragile orders get a dedicated driver from pickup to drop-off.
Multi-Location Stores
Turn UniHop on location by location, each with its own pickup contact, and keep the rest of your fulfillment unchanged.
Less Manual Dispatch
Stop copying Shopify order details into a separate delivery system every time a local order comes in.
